WORLD MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS DAY

WORLD MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS DAY :
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic disease that affects the central nervous system (CNS). The CNS is made up of the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. MS is an autoimmune disease, which means that the body’s immune system attacks healthy tissue. In the case of MS, the immune system attacks the myelin sheath, which is a protective layer that surrounds nerve fibers. When the myelin sheath is damaged, it can slow down or block nerve signals. This can lead to a wide range of symptoms, including fatigue, vision problems, numbness or tingling, weakness, and difficulty with balance and coordination.
MS is a lifelong disease, but it is not always progressive. Some people with MS have mild symptoms that only flare up occasionally. Others have more severe symptoms that get worse over time. There is no cure for MS, but there are treatments that can help to manage the symptoms and slow the progression of the disease.
World MS Day is an opportunity to raise awareness of MS and to support those who are affected by the disease. There are many ways to get involved, including:
Learning more about MS
Talking to your friends and family about MS
Donating to organizations that support people with MS
Volunteering your time to help people with MS
By working together, we can make a difference in the lives of people with MS.
